Presently working as a lecturer in the department of library and information science, Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He did his M.Sc (Hons), ML&I.Sc and Ph.D from Panjab University, Chandigarh. The topic of his Ph.D. was "Use of Periodicals by Researchers in the Agricultural Universities of North India : A Survey and Bibliometric Analysis". He has guided almost 25 Master's dissertations and three Ph.D. dissertations. He has successfully completed U.G.C. minor research project and is currently working on major research project entitled "Preparation of Web based Gateway in Library & Information Science". He has attended various national and International conferences and has 20 publications in different professional journals of LIS.

He did his BL&I.Sc and ML&I.Sc from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is working for his Ph.D topic entitled “Total Quality Management in Central University Libraries in India: A Study" under the supervision of Dr. Masoom Raza. He is simultaneously working in the capacity of Project Fellow in a major research project titled “Preparation of Web based gateway in Library and Information Science”. Earlier to the present position, he worked as a Librarian in Iqra Public school Aligarh (CBSE Affiliated) . He is having various publications in different professional journals.
