Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa

The Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa was founded in Nairobi on Thursday 23 August 1984 under the name - Association of African Medical Librarians Association (AMLA). The name later changed in 1988 to the 'Association for Health Information and Libraries in Africa' so as to cater for those who are interested in health information issues and may not be librarians.

Aims and Objectives:

♦Improve provision of up-to-date and relevant health information

♦ Encourage professional development of health librarians

♦ Promote resource sharing in Africa and exchange of experiences
