The Gujarat University Library plays a vital role in the collection development and dissemination of Academic and Research information to meet the present and future needs of Users Community of University. The Gujarat University Library was established in 1951 with 1700 books & 170 periodical. At Present the Library has more than 3,50,000 printed books, 39,000 bound volumes, more than 30,000 reference books, 400 Regular and 700 Gratis Periodicals including journals in various Subjects. The University Library has also subscribed more then 1,00,000 E-books in various subjects and 8500 plus E-journals from INFLIBNET Centre 1,00,000 E-books in various subjects and 8500 plus E-journals from INFLIBNET Centre through UGC-INFONET Digital Library Consortium.
